Prison Sentences Handed Down In Howard County Circuit Court

Prison sentences were handed down Wednesday in several cases during Howard County Circuit Court.

31 year old Blake Seavers of Nashville was sentenced to a total of four years in prison on Theft of Property related to the theft of a firearm from a residence last October. Seavers was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance–Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia from a traffic stop in August 2019.

33 year old Devin Chase Goins of Nashville was sentenced to six years in the A.D.C. Goins was arrested last fall on drug possession charges.

48 year old Michael Markcum of Nashville was given a total of seven years in prison on assorted charges that included theft of property in January of last year for allegedly stealing a laptop from a residence. He was also charged in August of last year for attempting to furnish prohibited articles into the jail. Authorities said Markum had been on work release and when he returned, jailers said they found eight cigarettes hidden in a sandwich Markcum had been eating. The Howard County sentences will also be served concurrently with a revocated sentence on drug related charges from Sevier County that date back to 2012.

30 year old Chasity Ward of Nashville was sentenced to seven years on charges of delivery of meth cocaine. The charges are the result of an undercover operation conducted last year in Nashville.

31 year old Demario Scoggins of Mineral Springs was ordered to serve a four year prison sentence. He was charged with Aggravated Assault.

23 year old Jake Ganous of Nashville will serve 16 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections on assorted charges that included possession of meth cocaine with purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, breaking or entering and various other misdemeanor counts.
