Local Communities hosting 4th of July Celebrations

Communities in the local areas are gearing up for their 4th of July Celebrations.

Athens Annual FireWork Show will be today June 30th at 6pm. There will be grilled hot dogs and sausages for $3.00 each along with free cupcakes and ice cream. Face Painting will be $2 per person and the mechanical bull ride is $10 for children 12 and under and $15 for adults.

On tomorrow, July 1st, the City of Hope Tourism Commission will be hosting Sparks Fly in July and gates will open at 6pm. This event will take place at the Hope Municipal Court. There is no entry fee and canned food donations will be accepted at the gate for Hope in action. The Firework show will start after Sundown.

The 34th Annual Stand up for America will be July 4th starting at 7:30pm at the Nashville City Park with a special guest performance by Michael Hix and his Dallas Show Band. Children ages 3 and under get in free, 4 to 12 years old will be $5 and 13 years of age and up is $10. Gates will open at 6pm.

The 39th Annual Newhope Volunteer Fire Department Fireworks Celebration will also be Tuesday July 4th. They will have a corn hole tournament which will start at 10am, a gun raffle, a Redneck Water Slide, a Train Ride, Bounce Houses, Snow Cones and more. Entertainment will be provided by the Silver Smoke Band from Kirby.

Murfreesboro Tourism and Advertising Committee will be hosting their 4th of July celebration on Tuesday as well. There will be a Bounce House, Waterslide, a Rock Climbing wall and entertainment will be provided by the Joe LedBetter Band from 6pm to 9pm and the firework show will start at 9:30pm. This event will take place in the Murfreesboro Rehab and Nursing parking lot.  

Lockesburg will have Fireworks in the Park on Tuesday. Scheduled events will be as follows: Bingo at 3pm, Cornhole at 4pm, Cakewalk at 5:30pm, entertainment by the Outlaws and Law Dawgs Band at 6pm, Veterans Recognition, Full Concession, and Fireworks will be that night.
