Mineral Springs recently had a visitor pass through town and while doing so offered a helping hand in regards to the state of the local cemetery.
David Downs, of Texas, was travelling through town and after stopping by the Town Hall and speaking with Mayor Vera Marks, offered a monetary donation to refurbish the Archway to the cemetery. Downs stated he has family that rests in the cemetery there and would like to see the place fixed up.
He initially donated $1,000 in the form of a check but offered further assistance if the Mayor and City Council thought other projects would be beneficial to the area.
