Howard County Judge Talks Sales Tax Ordinance and Its Benefits for Local Towns

This week, we had the opportunity to speak with Howard County Judge Brent Pinkerton about the Howard County Quorum Court meeting, where several key ordinances were discussed.

In our interview, Judge Pinkerton explained the importance of the ordinance related to the levy of a one percent sales tax and how it will benefit the various towns throughout Howard County.

Judge Pinkerton also discussed his hopes for how the funds generated by the tax will be allocated, with road maintenance throughout the county being a top priority.

In addition, Pinkerton noted that 10 percent of the tax revenue will be used to support the Economic Development Group, “Developing Howard County,” which focuses on fostering growth and development within the area.
