City Hall of Dierks informs residents of price changes in sanitation services

Yesterday, the City Hall of Dierks informed their residents about the change that the city council approved Monday, November 27th. The Council recently approved to contract County Trash Service LLC out of Broken Bow Oklahoma.

CTS presented their services to the council as well as their pricing, routing, timeline etc. With the rising cost of parts and labor, as well as aging trash trucks, the council approved this change.

The changes Dierks residents will see are as follows:

* The city of Dierks currently charges every household $14 a month for trash services. The new CTS monthly fee is $18 a month. Around a $4 a month increase from your current bill. This will automatically be added to your water bill.

* Every household will receive one 95-gallon poly cart trash can (whether you want it or not!) CTS will not empty homemade trash bins. You will have to use their trash cans if you want your trash picked up. You should have your new can by Sunday, December 3rd.

*If one can isn’t enough for your household, you can receive additional cans for $8 a month per can.

*Beginning the week of December 4th, CTS will be picking up all residential trash every Thursday. You are asked to have your trash inside your can and out by the road the night before pickup, Wednesday nights.

*If you are a senior citizen or disabled, you will qualify for free porch pickup. Meaning CTS will pick your trash up from your porch instead of expecting you to have your trash out by the road.

*All dumpsters will be emptied every Monday.

*Dumpsters are for BUSINESS USE ONLY. No citizens are allowed to throw personal trash into a business dumpster. This will be monitored by city police.

They added this is a new change and that they understand there will be questions, concerns, or some minor problems. They also ask that everyone does their part to make this as easy of a transition as possible. If any of the following changes are not followed, your trash simply will not be picked up.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call City Hall at 870-286-2671.
