Continuance granted in Delarosa trial

A continuance has been granted in the trial of a former Dierks city employee accused of taking more than $500,000 dollars in city funds.  59 year old Cheryl Delarosa is charged with multiple counts of Theft of Property and Abuse of Public Trust.  Her trial date was set for this week, but has been rescheduled for a pre-trial date of September 28th and a trial date of October 18th.

She was charged last year following an investigation by state authorities into the disappearance of city money that dates back to 2015.
