Corps Of Engineers Suspends Millwood Shoreline Activities
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Project Office at Millwood Lake is suspending shoreline activities for the new year. The suspension will allow officials to establish a baseline for the lake while revising its 45 year old master plan as well as the seven year old shoreline management plan.
A series of workshops will be held to inform the public about the process of updating the master and management plans. Park visitors and local residents will be given the opportunity to voice their comments or concerns to corps personnel.
Millwood’s master plan is used to guide all use and development of the federal public land at the lake as well as the recreational use of the waters. The shoreline management plan for Millwood Lake establishes policy and furnishes guidelines for the protection and preservation of the desirable environmental characteristics of the shoreline while maintaining a balance between public and private shoreline use.
