Dierks City Council/School Board

The Dierks City Council & Dierks Public Schools are on the verge of entering into a new agreement. This agreement would provide a school resource officer for the upcoming school year.  At Monday’s council meeting, Dierks Superintendent Jody Cowart presented an agreement between the two entities.  The resource officer would be paid by the school district for the 178 student days and during summer months, the officer would work for the city  to help prevent overtime due to employees taking vacation.  A part-time officer, currently employed by the city, would serve as this resource officer.

The Dierks Police Department introduced and added a new full time officer. 21 year old  Turner Reed recently graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy & is now a fully certified officer.  Reed is a 2018 Dierks High School graduate & is the son of Tim Reed & LeAnn Irvan.  Prior to working for Dierks, Officer Reed briefly served as a patrol officer in Mineral Springs.
