Dierks School Board learns more about EAST lab
The Dierks School Board held their regular monthly meeting last week.
The board discussed the progress of some projects that’s currently being done by The East Lab students.
EAST stands for education accelerated by service and technology. This program inspires change along with transforming schools and communities by empowering people with technology, by encouraging critical thinking and creative problem-solving, and by engaging students in positive, real-world experiences. They advocate lifelong learning and community service. Through EAST, participants become positive agents of change to improve the world around them.
High School Principal Gene Strode explained in detail some of The East Lab current and future activities, and what the requirements are for each project.
Strode said The East Lab group is a great program that’s so involved in the community.
