Glenwood woman arrested on multiple charges
A Glenwood area woman is charged with a felony count of Terroristic Threatening following a traffic stop last month by Pike County deputies. Authorities say a vehicle driven by 20 year old Kendra Cogburn was stopped for having no license or brake light. During the traffic stop, deputies say the detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Deputies asked Cogburn and another passenger to step out of the car. During a search of the vehicle, officers say the recovered the suspected illegal drugs in a compartment near the car’s radio. Remains of a smoked marijuana cigarette were also found under the passenger’s seat. In the car’s back seat, police said they found a baby not buckled in.
When deputies attempted to arrest Cogburn, they say she became combative, and with help from a Glenwood officer, Cogburn was taken into custody and transported to the Pike County Jail. While in the patrol car and at the jail, authorities said Cogburn made threatening statements toward deputies.
She is charged with a felony count of Terroristic Threatening, as well as misdemeanor charges that include Possession of a Controlled Substance, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Driving on a Suspended License, No Proof of Insurance, and for having defective equipment.
