Lockesburg man killed in single vehicle accident

A single vehicle accident claimed the life of a Lockesburg man on Monday.
According to an accident report released by the Arkansas State Police, 56-year-old Kelly J. Purtell was travelling west on Melrose Road in Sevier County around 1:30 Monday afternoon when his 2009 Yamaha motorcycle left the roadway and hit a ditch. The accident forcibly ejected Purtell from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigating state trooper described road conditions as clear and dry at the time of the accident.
