Scrapper baseball team opens conference play Tuesday

Last week, head baseball coach, Kyle Slayton spoke to the Nashville Rotary Club.

Slayton mentioned there were 17 players on this year’s team, including 5 seniors, 2 juniors, 6 sophomores and 4 freshmen. He said his number one arm was Arkansas Tech commit, Garrett Willard followed by Cason Willard and Slade Slayton.

Slayton also talked about the recent renovation of Wilson Park.

Following the meeting, Slayton spoke to KMTB about opening the conference Tuesday on the road at Malvern.

This Thursday, the Scrappers will travel to Mount Pleasant, Texas to play three games this weekend.

The Scrappers are currently 3-1 following the Ralph Gross Tournament this weekend at Wilson Park.
