Mine Creek Conservation District to conduct election for district board positions, March 7

On Tuesday, March 7, 2023 the Mine Creek Conservation District will conduct an election for three elected directors that serve on the Mine Creek Soil & Water Conservation District Board.

A board of five directors, two of which are appointed by the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission and three are elected by resident landowner, governs the Mine Creek Soil & Water Conservation District. 

These positions are not honorary titles. The board members serve as volunteers and work toward efficient use of the land and also are required to attend monthl board meetings, establish district policies, participate in the formulation of county programs, administer all district finances according to state laws attend and participate in the Southwest Arkansas 

Association of Conservation Districts annual meeting and committees, publish information news articles, and keep informed of legislation of State and Federal governments pertaining to conservation problems so that they can make legislators aware of how local conservation programs might be affected, in addition to maintaining their own operations.

  • Own land and reside in the district
