Mineral Springs City Council considering bid for new generator
Earlier this week, Mineral Springs water superintendent, Eric Marks provided the city council with a quote from Generated Energy Solutions of Bryant for a new 60,000-kilowatt generator with an automatic starter. Marks said Larry Dunaway and the City of Nashville recommended Generated Energy Solutions.
The quote for was $68,668.21. Marks said the quote included the generator, a weather enclosure, warranty and installation. The estimated arrival date would be in about 60-weeks.
Marks said GES would finance the purchase with 25 percent down. He also informed the council that the city has applied for a grant to help pay for the generator, but they won’t know if they qualify for the grant until sometime in October.
Marks also reported the electrician has found the parts to repair the Northside well. He said the total cost will be $5,000. Marks said the breaker box will be installed in a weatherized box and placed outside the well building.
