Mineral Springs resident arrested following traffic stop
On November 8th, Nashville Patrol Officer David Shelby conducted a traffic stop on a purple Ford Taurus for a broken windshield.
The driver was identified as 36 year old Rachael D. Granger of Mineral Springs.
Officer Shelby made contact with Granger and explained the reason for the stop. Shelby checked Granger’s drivers license with the on-duty dispatcher and was advised that it was suspended.
Shelby then asked Granger if she had anything illegal on her or inside the vehicle. Granger admitted to having two marijuana cigarettes. Shelby located the suspected marijuana cigarettes inside a Montego cigarette package that was sitting in the passenger seat.
Shelby also located a zebra striped zipper pouch on the passenger seat and found a small plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, one portion of a red plastic straw which had been fashioned into a smoke pipe, and one portion of a blue plastic straw which had been fashioned into a smoke pipe. Shelby also found an empty syringe and one blue glass smoke pipe with residue believed to be methamphetamine.
Granger was transported to the Howard County Detention Facility, and once there, a female detention officer removed a syringe from Granger’s bra, which contained an unidentified substance believed to be methamphetamine. The suspected methamphetamine was packaged in a seal condition and submitted to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.
Granger was charged with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance (Marijuana).
