Mineral Springs School Board approves changes to the board

Monday during the Mineral Springs School Board’s regular monthly meeting, there was a unanimous vote to appoint board member William Dixon as president, Dorothy Vaughn as Vice President, Barnardo Thomas as secretary, and Mike Erwin as Treasurer. 

Superintendent Billy Lee informed the board that he had two resignations, Brandy Wilson as an Elementary Teacher and Rheyshaunna Stewart as a lunchroom worker. Lee also presented the list of re-hires of classified staff for the 2024-2025 school year. The board then approved to accept those resignations and to rehire all classified staff for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Superintendent Lee then presented a quote from Next Step Innovations which is a cloud service for disaster recovery.

After further discussion, there was a motion made by board members William Dixon and seconded by Mike Erwin to accept a quote in the amount of $39,532.36 from Next Step Innovations for three years.

Mineral Springs Elementary Principal Ruby Dean reported that the ATLAS test is being reviewed and they are getting prepared to start testing next week. 

In conclusion, Superintendent Lee announced that the Mineral Springs Graduation ceremony will be held May 3rd.
