Mineral Springs School Board Holds Monthly Meeting, Approves Key Hires and Financial Statements

The Mineral Springs School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday evening, where a series of significant decisions were made that will shape the future of the district.

One of the key motions approved was the hiring of Jarod Jackson as the new Head Football Coach and Assistant Principal. Jackson’s appointment marks a new chapter for the district’s athletic and administrative leadership. In addition, the board hired Sherry Marshall as an Elementary teacher, further bolstering the district’s teaching staff.

The board also took action on several staffing changes. They approved the renewal of certified staff contracts for the upcoming year and accepted the resignations of Samantha Fant and Janilo Woodley, both of which will take effect at the end of the current school year.

Principal Stacy Gaddis provided an update during her report, sharing information about upcoming events and activities in the district.

In the financial report presented by Business Manager Frankie Tollette, the board was informed that by the end of February 2025, the district’s ending balance stood at $1,575,409.79, excluding CDs, with a legal balance of $1,647,723.28 including CDs. The total all-fund balance reached an impressive $2,586,646.88. Following the presentation, the board unanimously approved the financial statement as presented.

To conclude the meeting, the board approved a motion to accept the Saratoga lease, which will be leased by Nicole Vaughn.
