Mineral Springs School Board renews Superintendent’s contract

Monday night, the Mineral Springs School voted to renew Superintendent Billy Lee’s contract, as per the salary schedule along with the approval of the 2024-2025 calendar. .

Superintendent Lee made a recommendation to hire Quinton Thornton as a math teacher, Shelly Thornton as a Business Teacher, Jeremy Lee as a Science teacher, Chancy Ware as a HomeEc Teacher and Librarian and Diane Harris as a special ed aide. Lee also made a recommendation to accept three resignations, Jared Jackson as a Defensive Coordinator, Shane Wilson as a Math Teacher, and Jamie Crabtree as a 9th Grade Science Teacher and to accept the retirement of Jacque Clemons as a special ed teacher and Marion Hedrick as Librarian. The board approved a motion to accept those recommendations as presented by Superintendent Lee. There was also a 5 to 1 vote to rehire certified faculty.
