Nashville starts 2021 with above normal amount of rainfall

Rainfall last month in Nashville was above normal by more than three and a third inches above normal. Just under seven inches of rain was recorded, including a pair of days that received more than two inches. The heaviest 24 hour total was recorded at 2.6 inches, on the morning of January 7th. Some parts of the area recorded a very light dusting of snow on the morning of January 11th. However, Nashville received nothing more than a few snow flurries.
Temperatures to start the new year ranged from 21 to 70 degrees. Highs averaged 54.7 degrees, which is 7 tenths of a degree above normal, while morning lows were 31.5 degrees, which is just 4 tenths of a degree below normal.
