Outlaws advance in state tournament; Hornets tip off Friday and Scrapperettes Saturday

The Dierks Outlaws advanced to the second round of the 2A state basketball tournament Thursday afternoon with a 57-48 victory over the Marshall Bobcats. 

Marshall lead by 11 at the half, 32-21. But, the Outlaws held the Bobcats to 16 points in the second half to earn the win. 

Austin Mack led the Outlaws with 20 points but Evan Starwart was the player of the game. He scored 9 points and was a lockdown defender in the second half on Marshall’s leading scorer. 

The Outlaws will play the winner of the Lavaca/Earle game Saturday evening at 8:30. The game will be broadcast on 105.5 the Maverick. 

Tonight, the Mineral Springs Hornets will play in the first round of the state 1A tournament in Morrilton against Guy-Perkins. 

And, the Nashville Scrapperettes will play winner of today’s game between Wynn and Harrison at7 o’clock Saturday night in the quarter finals of the 4A state tournament in Magnolia. 

The Scrapperettes can be heard on B 99.5.
