Pike County Police Department is searching for a Murfreesboro man that’s been charged with sexual assault
Pike County authorities are searching for 29 year-old Bernardo Ruiz of Murfreesboro. The Pike County Circuit Court issued a warrant for his arrest in April of this year on the charge of distribution or possession of child pornography. According to the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, Ruiz has also been charged with rape by force and sexual assault of a child.
According to court documents, Gabriela Ruiz informed authorities that her husband, Bernardo Ruiz was sending explicit texts and pictures to her 16-year-old sister on the 11th of February.
During the investigation, investigators discovered messages and photos sent to the juvenile from Bernardo that indicated there may have been a physical relationship in the past. Investigators also discovered a video on Bernardo’s phone depicting images of a sexual nature involving a child.
Ruiz is white male about 5 foot 7 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
