Pike County Quorum Court
Pike County Quorum Court met Monday evening in a short session. Office of Emergency Management director, Hesston Teel, presented a quote from Reynolds Radio Service to upgrade the dispatch radio system. This new system would include a GPS tracker for patrol units to be able to locate officers at any time even when no cell service is available. Teel said the money needed to purchase this system is in the budget and that before moving forward they would need to advertise the plan to allow opportunity for others to place bids on the service. The motion passed 8 for and none against.
Judge Mack advised the quorum of the need for a new roof on the pike county health unit building as it continually leaks when it rains. After presenting 2 quotes from Fagan roofing – 1 for shingles at a price of $16,930 and a 2nd for metal at a price of $22,800 the quorum discussed and voted on the shingle option with 8 for and none against.
Last on the agenda Judge Mack told the court that the hospital building had been cleared to lease. After discussion a motion to lease the hospital building to Erica Tidwell for $1 per year to open a detox/rehab facility was made and then passed with 8 for and none opposing.
