Scrapperettes defeat Arkadelphia in 3 innings
The Scrapperettes improved to 10-1 in 7-4A conference play Friday afternoon with a 19-0 victory over the Lady Badgers of Arkadelphia.
Sr. Maci McJunkins pitched a perfect game. She gave up no runs on no hits, while striking out eight with no walks. McJunkins was also two for two at the plate with an RBI single and a grand slam home run.
Friday night was senior night and the Scrapperette seniors produced in a big way. Jasminie Wakefield had an in-the-park home run, Ellen Spigner reached on an error and scored on a wild pitch. Eva Reeder went three for three with a double, bunt-single and an RBI single. Ashley Chambers lead-off the game with a triple and scored on a double off the bat of Mattison Steele. And Maggie Campbell was the flex player and played first base.
This week, the Scrapperettes will wrap up the regular season with three games. They will play at Mena on Tuesday, at home against De Queen on Thursday and at Fountain Lake on Friday.
