South Pike County School Board Meeting
The South Pike County School Board passed several motions at their regular monthly meeting Monday evening.
During the meeting, the board approved a motion to hire Georgia Clark as a speech paraprofessional pending her passing the Praxis Para Pro Test along with the approval of the handbook changes as presented by the building principals.
The board also approved a motion to accept the bid from KLC Video Security for $41,910 to install cameras on the buses, a bid from Diamond Bank for 5.26% for 12 months, and a bid from Arkansas School Board Association for student accident coverage. In other business, the board approved a motion to move $464,000 to the building fund and to recap the student parking lot and basketball court on the playground.
Superintendent Tanya Wilcher reported that the Band Stand is completed, and open house will be August 15th. Wilcher also stated that the next board meeting will be August 21st and board training will follow.
