Three Legacy Academy players named All-State by HCAA
Three of Legacy Academy’s basketball players were selected as All-State
players by HCAA All-State Teams. Seniors Ethan Gallagher and Dori Bartek
and Sophomore Oaklee Lofton were each selected for the athletic honor.
Each played in their respective All-State All-Star Games on February
25th at Oklahoma Christian University, OKC, representing the school in
Legacy’s sixth year of its basketball program.
This is Ethan
Gallagher’s fourth year to be selected as an all-state player. This
season Gallagher scored 1,103 points, making him the highest scorer in
the nation this season, according to MaxPreps.com. He has now scored a
cumulative 2,867 points in his four years of high school basketball. He,
this year, averaged 34.5 points, 15.4 rebounds, 3.9 steals, 4.7
assists, and 1.2 blocks per game. Gallagher is an all-A student and
served as the team’s captain for the last three years.
Senior Dori
Bartek, in her final year of high school, has averaged 12 points a game
for the Lady Warriors, along with 2 assists, 6.5 rebounds, and 2 steals.
She has served as team captain for the Lady Warriors.
Sophomore
Oaklee Lofton had a breakout season as well, having averaged 18 points a
game, 2 assists, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. Her total of 641 points were
more than any other female athlete in the state of Arkansas, according
to MaxPreps.com.
All three players are known for their excellent
conduct on and off the court; school founder, Mr. Gallagher, said of
them, “I am really proud of our players’ efforts and excellence,
particularly that they never let anything come before their commitment
to honor God in the way they play, train, and study. This is the most
important thing that we can teach them. Selection for such a young
program is also an honor for the school. These players have worked hard
and we love cheering them and their teammates on!”
Each player played
16 minutes in their respective games. Senior Dori Bartek scored 2
points and grabbed 2 rebounds. Sophomore Oaklee Lofton scored 2 points,
grabbed 1 rebound and block, nabbed 4 steals and fished out 3 assists.
Senior Ethan Gallagher stole the show in the men’s game with the
following stat line: 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks and 1
steal.
