Wait…to insure plants and shrubs aren’t damaged
Now that temperatures are warming up there’s more daylight in the evenings, many people are starting to do yard work. A lot of people have already noticed some of the plants or shrubs and hedges are brown. Pike County Extension Agent Terrell Davis says its still too early to tell right now how many shrubs did not survive the record bitterly cold temperatures seen in southwest Arkansas last month. Davis says damage to those plants may still be in progress, and as the plants continue coming out of their dormant state in the next few weeks, everyone will have a clearer picture to the extent of damage suffered.
Davis said to not panic yet and wait a few more weeks to determine if you need to prune or replace some of your plants and shrubs.
