Local students compete during Arkansas State Fair Livestock Show

Two area residents were among the best over the weekend during this year’s Arkansas State Fair Livestock Show. Kiersten Priddy of Nashville finished second in the Junior Goat Showmanship category. Bryce Gregory of Ozan was third in the competition.
At the fair’s cattle showing competition, winners included Morgan Bonner of Nashville, who is owner of the fair’s Reserve Champion Bred and Owned Simmental Bull. Bonner also has the fair’s Bred and Owned Simmental Female, while Alex Bonner had the Reserve Champion Female. Gatlin Priddy has the state fair’s Grand Champion Bred and Owned Simmental Bull. Other livestock show winners included Savannah Jackson for having the fair’s Bred and Owned Shorthorn Plus Female.
Several area Four-H members also competed at the state fair’s Skill-A-Thon event. Anna Sweat was third in both the Senior Lamb and beef events. Kiersten Priddy was first in the junior division of the lamb, beef, goat and swine, and Savannah Jackson placed third in the senior goat skill-a-thon competition.
The fair competitions continue through October 24th.
