Dierks Schedules Graduation For July

Dierks High School principal Todd Finley informed the school board that graduation for the class of 2020 would be held on July 20 at 7:00 PM in the high school gymnasium.

Finley said the district had received approval from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education but would need to adhere to CDC guidelines.

Finley said 290 people will be allowed to set in the bleachers of the gymnasium and 128 family members will be allowed on the floor along with the graduating seniors, administrators and school board members. He said the school will give each senior four floor tickets and eight bleacher tickets.

Board members voted to transfer any excess funds over $755,000 from the district’s general fund to the building fund and approved the state recommended COVID-19 Emergency Resolution. They also accepted the transfer of one student into the district and five students out of the district through the state School Choice Act.
