Millage Increases in Howard County

Two Howard County communities will have higher millage rates next year.  The Nashville City Council recently voted to raise millage rates from 2.6 mills to 3.6 mills…while aldermen in Tollette have increased the rates from 4.75 to 5 mills.  According to Arkansas law, governing bodies for cities & counties can set millage rates up to five mills, without requiring a vote of residents.

On the county level, Howard County will not see any increases in millage rates for next year.  The county millage continues at 3.6, while the road rate is two mills & the library taxing rate is set at one mill.

Rates for cities, schools & the county were approved Monday by the Howard County Quorum Court.
