Kansas resident facing drug charges in Howard County

A Kansas resident is due for a Howard County Circuit Court appearance April 14th on drug related charges. 33 year old Joseph Daniel Laskach is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance–methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and fleeing.
Authorities say the charges were filed after an incident that occurred last month at the probation and parole office in Nashville. Prosecutors say Laskach was being interviewed by state officers, when he fled from the building on foot and was apprehended a short time later by probation officers and the Nashville Police Department. Officials said they conducted a search of the vehicle Laskach drove to the parole office and discovered assorted drug paraphernalia items, along with a crystal like substance, believed to be methamphetamine.
He was originally scheduled to be in local court yesterday, but was unable to attend the proceedings, because he’s currently held at a state correctional facility.
