Marks receives a vote of confidence from Mineral Springs City Council

Mineral Springs Mayor Vera Marks has received a vote of confidence to remain in the position as she fills the current unexpired term of former Mayor Steve Dixon, who resigned earlier this year. During a special council meeting Monday evening, Marks called for an executive session. About 25 minutes later, the council returned to open session & voted to have Marks continue serving in the mayor’s position.
Following that discussion, council members began looking at details of next year’s city budget. The budget is expected to include pay raises for all city employees…except for the water superintendent. The Police chief is scheduled to receive the largest pay raise for next year.
Next year’s proposed budget at Mineral Springs shows revenue anticipated at 636 thousand 645 dollars & expenses of 462 thousand 433 dollars.
