Area Census Reporting Lower Than State Average

Just over 50 percent of Howard County residents have responded to the census survey this year which is below the state response rate of 57 percent.

City numbers show 52 percent of Nashville residents have participated in the census which is the highest total in Howard County. Tollette has a 40 percent completion rate. At Dierks the number is 39 percent and Mineral Springs has only a 36 percent rate.

In Pike County, the response rate has been 46 percent. Murfreesboro has the highest participation rate among the municipalities at 51 percent while Daisy’s 29 percent figure is the lowest in Pike County.

50 percent of Hempstead County’s citizens have completed this year’s census.
