City of Lockesburg considering online bill pay option for water customers
The Lockesburg City Council discussed the possibility of online bill payment for municipal water customers and an animal control ordinance during their July meeting
The council met on Tuesday, July 26 with all but one member of the city council present.
The meeting began with a discussion on methods for city water customers to pay their bills online. Several options were discussed. Council members voted to begin researching what option would be best for both the city and its water customers.
Council members discussed a possible animal at large ordinance after the city had received an animal complaint within the city limits. No action was taken and the ordinance was tabled until the council could consult with City Attorney Erin Hunter.
Following a brief discussion, a motion was made to charge a $50 fee for rental of the pavilion at the Ida Margaret Coulter Stone Park when being used for a yard sale. $25 of fee will be refunded if the pavilion is left clean following its use.
The council then approved a revised plan from the Arkansas Department of Transportation to overlay several streets within Lockesburg, including S. Park, E. Pine, W. Pine and Provo Road. The cost to the city would be $23,000.
A motion was made to provide a raise up to $20 an hour for both the Wasterwater and Water Department supervisors. The motion carried a stipulation that no further raises would be provided until January of 2024.
