City of Mineral Springs rehires engineering firm

Monday, aldermen of the Mineral Springs City Council held their regular monthly meeting. Mayor Bobby Tullis explained to the council that they were informed by A.L. Franks Engineering that they need to be officially rehired every year. Tullis also provided an update on the upcoming project.

Tullis said they will be looking into their current water rates so they will have something to recommend to the state as far as paying back the loan for the project. After further discussion there was a motion made by Aldermen James Jean and seconded by Charles Deloney to hire A.L. Franks Engineering as their engineer for the year 2024.

According to Mineral Springs Fire Chief Chris Hostetler’s report, for the month of January, the department had two fire drills and 9 total calls. Five of those calls were first responder calls, three were structure fires, and two were smoke alarms.

In conclusion, Director of Public Works Eric Marks informed the council that they are looking to do a Spring Cleanup in April.
