Family of Pike County Man filed a formal complaint against Pafford EMS at Quorum Court Meeting

The Pike County Quorum Court held their regular monthly meeting Monday.

During the meeting, the family of George Morrow made a formal complaint against Pafford Ambulance Service. Family members spoke about a transport incident that happened with Morrow. Pafford’s Director of Operations John Gray was present to speak on behalf of the ambulance provider. Communication was once again the key issue.

Justices of the peace approved a motion to adopt an ordinance as read. This ordinance is to permit the county to purchase services from an employee, directly or indirectly for the year of 2023. The employees were Scott Howard, Owner of Doyle Howard Construction, and Richard Calley, Owner of Twig Inc and current Road Foreman. 

According to the Treasurer’s Report for the month of February, County General had a beginning balance of $1,248,346.17 and an ending balance of $1,405,228.33. County Road had a beginning balance of $860,028.55 and an ending balance of $907,387.18. Landfill had a beginning balance of $949,713.21 and an ending balance of $980,273.13. Justices of the peace passed a motion to accept Treasurer Loletia Rather’s report for the month of February.

Pike County Clerk Randee Reid presented an Appropriation Ordinance, concerning the Pike County Budget for 2023. Reid explained that $20,519.54 from FUND 1000 would be used to reimburse the ARPA Fund the 1st quarter, for two officers that were being reimbursed by the schools using COPS grant money and $35,464 from FUND 1007 were the matching portion for the AWIN Radio Grant awarded to Coordinator Lee Vincent. There was an 8 to 0 vote to approve the ordinance as presented.
