Howard County Quorum Court preparing for active election year

With the potential for an active election year ahead, the Howard County Quorum Court voted Tuesday to provide an extra $10,000 in funding for part time assistance to the county clerk’s office. Clerk Teague said she would only use the money if she sees that her office needs assistance surrounding the election times. Teague said part time help would be paid the minimum wage of $11 an hour.

Justice of the Peace Janice Huffman asked that county attorney Aaron Brasel begin working on a county ordinance that would serve as guidelines for future development of solar arrays in the county.

It was also noted that the county is still awaiting parts to complete a series of airport improvements that were approved last year.
