Kirby FFA Chapter

It’s that time of the year again, where FFA Chapters around the country celebrate National FFA Week. It’s a time to share what FFA is and the impact it has on members every day.

National F.F.A. Week was initiated by the National Future Farmers of America Organization — a youth leadership organization, and one of the largest in the U.S., to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by developing their potential for leadership, personal growth, and career success through agriculture education. This week we will highlight the schools in the local area and take a moment to recognize students that are involved in FFA.

Today we’ll start with the Kirby School District’s FFA Chapter.

Members of the Kirby FFA Chapter are President Jaxan Fatherree, Vice President Ashlyin Cogburn, Tobey Cogburn, Peytan Chambers, Addy Chandler and the Advisor Amanda Minton.

Minton said they are 100 percent affiliated and that she sees about 80 kids a day.

Fatheree stated that they are getting their auction ready to raise money for upcoming FFA events. Fatheree also mentioned what he likes about being in FFA.

Minton stated the auction date is Tuesday March 26th and she mentioned what this auction will benefit.

Ashlyin Cogburn talked about how what activities that she participated in FFA and how she feels when she wears her FFA jacket.

Chandler stated that she likes all the opportunities that FFA gives her and the people she gets to meet.

Tomorrow we will highlight the Nashville High School FFA Chapter.
