Local Towns Receive Grant Money

Two area communities have been awarded state grants. Tollette has received a grant of 1,572 dollars to purchase a new heating & cooling unit for the town’s library. In Hempstead County, the town of Washington has been given a 72,577 dollar grant. The money will be used on the purchase of a brush truck for the fire department.
Both grants have been awarded through the Arkansas Division of Rural Services. Governor Asa Hutchinson made the presentations to officials from each town.
