Mineral Springs School Board Holds Regular Meeting on February 25, 2025
The Mineral Springs School Board met in regular session on Tuesday evening, February 25, 2025, at the MS Administration Building. Several key decisions were made during the meeting, starting with the rehire of K-12 Principal, Stacey Gaddis, and Federal Programs Coordinator, Wendy Reed. Both motions were approved unanimously by the Board.
The Board also accepted five staff resignations, including those of Lauren Wilson (4th grade), Janine Allen (LEA), and teachers/coaches Keontae Larry, Quinton Thornton, and Shelby Thornton. All five resignations were effective by June 30, 2025, with one effective February 14, 2025.
Superintendent Amerson presented the Proposed Budget of Expenditures with tax levy for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, which was approved by the Board.
District Treasurer Frankie Tollett presented the financial statement, reporting that the legal fund balance, excluding CDs, was $2,026,078.51, while the legal fund balance including CDs totaled $2,098,158.58. The overall all-fund balance was $3,058,860.76. President Dixon called for a motion to approve the financial statement as presented. Ray Hawkins made the motion, which was seconded by Xavier Vaughn, and the motion passed unanimously with a 6-0 vote.
Additionally, the Board approved the removal of the Athletic Director’s signature requirement from the Guidelines for Requisitions & Purchase Orders, as well as the renewal of the Cadence Educator Liability Insurance, which remains unchanged for the year.
All motions during the meeting were passed with unanimous votes.
