Murfreesboro City Council
The city of Murfreesboro has decided to participate in the 9th West District Drug Task Force. During Monday’s city council meeting, aldermen voted to spend $2,500 to allow Police Chief Randy Lamb to become a board member of the task force. The move will also provide assistance to the police department in working drug cases within the city of Murfreesboro.
Three appointments were made Monday to the town’s Tourism Commission. Jean Floyd was appointed to a four year term, replacing Lewis Gills. Angie Branch was named to serve the unexpired term of Misty Wilson, and Randy Riddle was reappointed to another four year term.
Council members also approved financing for a new garbage truck. Bank of Delight will finance the truck, with the interest rate being 2.78 percent, covering a five year period.
