NSD Superintendent discusses hybrid calendar vs traditional calendar

Yesterday, the Nashville School District held their first meeting with members of the community to discuss the Traditional Calendar vs the Hybrid Year-Round Calendar.

Superintendent Doug Graham presented an example of a year-round calendar that he felt would be suitable for the Nashville School District.

According to the example of the hybrid calendar, if approved, students will start school July 25th, 2024, and finish June 6th, 2025. Graham stated that one of the things that they hope with the hybrid calendar is that this will increase student attendance.

Graham even mentioned the University of Arkansas doing a study on year-round schools and how the students perform.

In conclusion, Graham talked about the overall meeting and how he wants to make sure that people in the community have an understanding.

Graham said if they decide to try the hybrid calendar and it doesn’t work out then they would go back to the traditional calendar.
