Scrappers and Scrapperettes victorious at Malvern

Last night, the Nashville Scrapperettes improved to 12 and 4 overall and 3 and 0 in the 7-4A conference with a 71 to 25 victory over the Malvern Lady Leopards.

Malvern kept the game close through the first 8-minutes of the game, but the Scrapperettes outscored the Lady Leopards 41 to 2 in the second period to take a commanding 53-14 lead at the half.

In the second half, Nashville cruised to their 12th victory of the season.

In the boy’s contest, it was a nip and tuck until the Leopards went cold late in the game and the Scrappers pulled away, securing a 9-point victory, 50 to 41.

The game was tied after the first period, the Scrappers led by 1 at the half and the game was tied 35-35 going into the final period of play.

The Scrappers improved to 7 and 2 overall and 2 and 1 in conference play to remain in third place in the conference.

Nashville travels to De Queen Friday night for another 7-4A conference match-up.

In Springhill, the Dierks Lady Outlaws fought back to claim a 40 to 35 victory over the Lady Bears of Springhill.

The Lady Outlaws improved to 6 and 9 overall and 2 and 3 record in the 7-2A conference.

However, the Outlaws and the Bears battled all night.

The Outlaws led by 1 after the first 8-minutes of play. They led by 2 at the half and they led by 3 going into the fourth period. But, the Bears would keep it close and tied the game at 61 forcing overtime.

In overtime, the Bears outscored the Outlaws by 6 points to claim the 71-65 victory.

The Outlaws fell to 9 and 7 overall and 4 and 1 in the conference.

Dierks will host Caddo Hills Thursday night. The varsity games will be broadcast on 105.5 the Maverick.
