Scrappers defeat Mena for Homecoming

The Nashville High School Homecoming took place this past Friday.

Homecoming Coordinator, Lacy Gordon Britt expressed how she felt about this year’s festivities!

Gordon even gave recognition to the ones that participated in decorations for this years Homecoming!

Homecoming Queen, Kyleigh Scoggins had a heart felt speech during the ceremony!

Friday night, the Nashville Scrappers got their offense started early and scored on their first play from scrimmage.

Nashville scored four times in the first half and twice in the second half.

But it was the Scrapper defense that showed up. Coach Ben Morrow said the defense bought in all week during practice.

The Scrapper defense forced turnovers, made critical stops and shut down the Beat cats offense.

Nashville defeated Mena 40 to 7 to improve to 4 and 2 overall and 1 and 1 in conference play.

In the battle for the Howard County Cup, the Dierks Outlaws came out on top by the final score of 20 to 8 over the Mineral Springs Hornets.

In other action, Murfreesboro defeated Horatio 22 to 8 and Poyen defeated Foreman 43 to nothing.
