Theft Charges Filed

A Hot Springs man is charged with the theft of about three thousand dollars in jewelry from an area residence. Sheriff’s deputies say 23 year old Damien Curtis has been charged with Breaking or Entering and theft of property. The charges come after a homeowner at Dogwood Circle reported the items missing earlier this week. Deputies say the residence had a security system and a review of the footage showed Curtis going through a cabinet that contained combinations to a bedroom safe. Police reports said Curtis was staying at the home as a guest when the thefts occurred. He was arrested Wednesday afternoon and is being held in the Howard County Jail.
