Arkansas unemployment numbers

The latest unemployment rates for Arkansas counties show higher figures for the month of January.  The Arkansas Division of Workforce Services is reporting Howard County’s January unemployment rate being 3.2 percent.  That ranks the county as having the 11th lowest figure during January.  In neighboring counties, Hempstead County is showing an unemployment rate of three and a half percent, which is 18th lowest in Arkansas, and Pike County’s January unemployment rate was reported at 4.4 percent.

The statewide January numbers had Benton and Washington counties sharing the lowest unemployment rate at 2.6 percent.  Chicot County had Arkansas’ highest number for January, at 8.6 percent.
