City of Murfreesboro to hold Public Hearing May 10

The City of Murfreesboro will be holding a public meeting on Monday, May 10 at 6 pm in the Murfreesboro City Hall at 204 East Main Street for the purpose of identifying and prioritizing the community needs and to determine whether an application for an Arkansas Community and Economic Development Program funds should be developed.

ACEDP funds are federal assistance that have been received by the state of Arkansas and administered by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. These funds are made available to cities and counties according to need and can be used for community facilities, public infrastructure or economic development.

However, the funds must be used to address one of the following objectives: 1) providea benefit to low and moderate income families; 2) aid in the prevention of slum and blight or 3) meet other community needs, which poses a serious, immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community where no other funding is available to meet such needs.

All Murfreesboro residents are encouraged to attend the hearing and participate in the community development process.
