Domtar Shutting Down Paper Machine

Officials with Domtar announced Monday the complete closure of the plant’s A62 paper machine, which was previously closed on a temporary basis in the spring due to COVID-19.
Company officials say they have not seen enough demand to warrant a restarting of the machine and its product.
The permanent shutdown of the A62 machine will affect over 100 employees at Ashdown and means Domtar’s plant there will focus 100 percent of its attention to pulp production.
