Nashville School Board Meeting

Members of the Nashville School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Monday. 

At the beginning of the meeting, there was an election of officers for the 2023-2024 school year. The board approved a motion to accept Superintendent Doug Graham’s recommendation that Tem Gunter would remain as president, Jerry Wilson as Vice-President, and David Hilliard as secretary for the 2023-2024 School year.

Superintendent Graham made another recommendation to hire Erica Tollett as a paraprofessional at NPS, Tesla Gills as a 1st Grade Teacher, Laken Hockaday LLC Teacher at NPS, Josh Kessler as a bus driver, and Jan Stewart as a bus driver for the 2023-2024 school year along with accepting the resignation of Natalie Sherman as NHS Secretary. The board approved a motion to accept Graham’s recommendation. There was another motion made by board members Jerry Wilson and Nick Britt to consider board to board transfers of 7 students that will be coming to the Nashville School District. All were in favor of those motions.

Graham made another recommendation to the board to transfer 1.8 million dollars from 2001 to the building fund. A motion was made by board members Nick Britt and seconded by Jerry Wilson to move those funds to the building fund. All were in favor of the motion.
