Outlaws host the Indians in the rematch

The Dierks Outlaws advanced to the second round of the 2A playoffs with a 50-0 victory over the Mountainburg Dragons.

Head Coach Jarrod Fannin said he was proud of the way his team played last week, but there is more work to be done.

This week, the Outlaws will face the Poyen Indians for the second time this season. In their first meeting, the Indians defeated the Outlaws 21-12, but two key Outlaw players missed that game. Fannin said every game is a big game in the playoffs.

Fannin said he expects the Indians to make a few adjustments for Friday’s game, but he feels his defense can adjust and make the necessary plays to stop the Poyen offense.

Poyen is favored by two points in tonight’s game.Tonight’s winner will face either Junction City or McCrory next week.
Kick off is set for 7 pm at Dierks. Jeff Tuttle and Jaron Tipton will have the call on 105.5 the Maverick.

In week two of the playoffs tonight, the Nashville Scrappers have received a forfeit from Waldron, meaning the Scrappers will have a second consecutive open date. Nashville coaches will be focused tonight’s Elkins/Bald Knob contest, as the winner of that game comes to Scrapper Stadium next Friday. Elkins is favored to advance.
Several teams from the 7-4A Conference will see action tonight. Arkadelphia travels to Mena, Ashdown will be at Ozark, Robinson hosts Little Rock Mills, Bauxite will be at Dumas, and Malvern is scheduled to host Trumann.
Tonight’s Class 3A playoff schedule includes Centerpoint traveling to Rison and Prescott will host Drew Central.
From the 5A schedule tonight, Magnolia hosts Greenbrier, Texarkana goes to Morrilton, Fairview will be at Harrison, and Hot Springs Lakeside will host Vilonia.
