Area Coordinator of ADEM attends Solar Eclipse Exercise

Recently we had a discussion with Area Coordinator Cecil McGee about ADEM, the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management conducting a live solar eclipse exercise. McGee said that they have been preparing for the eclipse for two years.

McGee said that he covers 14 counties in Arkansas, and he explains his job duties as an Area Coordinator.

McGee stated that ADEM is a responding Agency for the State of Arkansas that’s made up of training sessions and each county has its own management coordinator. McGee added that ADEM does more than just the eclipse and he described the different training sessions that they cover.

McGee also discussed SEOC, State Emergency Operations Center and he provided information on when it will be activated.

In conclusion, McGee talked about what counties that will be affected by the eclipse and what cities will have the longest viewing time of the eclipse.
